How to do Weighted Muscle-Up — animated demonstration

How to do it

  1. Attach a weight belt or wear a weighted vest before stepping up to the pull-up bar.
  2. Hang from the bar with an overhand grip, arms fully extended, and brace your core.
  3. Pull explosively toward the bar, driving your chest up as you keep the added weight controlled.
  4. Transition over the bar by bringing your chest above it and rotating your wrists on top.
  5. Press down through the bar until your arms are fully extended at the top.
  6. Lower under control back to a full hang and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
